What Does an Average Monument Cost?
There isn't any "average" cost, as many factors determine the cost of your monument. These include the size, material (i.e. color), finishes, and design. We will work within any budget constraints you may have. We guarantee the highest quality of service, materials, and workmanship available in our industry as well as the most competitive prices.
Is There a Waiting Period to Place a Monument on a Grave or Add Lettering on an Existing Monument?
It is not necessary to wait. Many families come to us immediately after a burial. The sooner arrangements are made with us, the sooner we can assist you in memorializing your loved one.
What Size Monuments Are Available?
Monuments can be made in any size. Most times, the size of your monument will be determined by cemetery regulations. We will work within any cemetery regulations.
How Long Will It Take to Complete My Monument?
This can vary depending on the materials and the design you select. However, a new monument is generally completed within 2 to 3 months. Lettering on existing monuments is generally done within 6 to 8 weeks from the date ordered.
What Payment Options Are Accepted?
We offer our clients affordable and flexible payment options. You may make these payments with cash, checks, money orders, or a major credit card.
Can My Lettering Be in a Foreign Language?
We often letter monuments in other languages.
Does Lettering Cost Extra?
We include a standard amount of lettering in the base cost of your monument. If you choose additional lettering beyond that, there is a reasonable additional fee.
What Cemetery Charges Do I Have to Pay?
The cemetery will charge a fee for the installation of a foundation for a new monument. Most cemeteries charge a "work permit" fee for adding lettering to an existing monument. These fees vary between different cemeteries. We will handle all paperwork and payment of fees to the cemetery on your behalf.
Is Our Monument Removed from the Grave to Add Future Lettering?
Lettering equipment is portable and is brought to the gravesite to add lettering to existing monuments, so there is no need to remove the monument.
Can Your Company Match Existing Lettering on a Monument, Even If Your Company Did Not Make the Original Monument?
Yes. We can match any existing lettering perfectly, regardless of whether or not we provided the original monument.
Can I Place a Picture of My Loved One on My Monument?
Yes. Thomas Meloro & Son Monument Company offers many ways to include an image of your loved one. Popular choices include a porcelain cameo or a hand etching produced by our onsite artist.
